Health is an important resource in TFT.

When a player’s health reaches 0, they lose the game.

Damage Formula

The way that player damage is calculated depends on the number of enemy units (non-summoned) that are still alive at the end of combat and the stage.

stage damage + champion damage = damage taken

Stage damage

Stage 1 - (neutrals) - 0
Stage 2 - 0 hp (1 if no enemy units remain in a loss)
Stage 3 - 2 hp
Stage 4 - 3 hp
Stage 5 - 5 hp
Stage 6 - 8 hp
Stage 7 - 15 hp

Champion damage

For every unit up to 5 unit loss: 2 hp / unit
For every unit > 6 unit loss: 1 hp / unit

If multiple players are less than 0 health at the end of a round, placement is determined by whoever has the lower HP.
